Prime Minister Narendra Modi convened a late-night meeting on Wednesday with the top brass of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

The meeting was attended by Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP president J P Nadda.

The meeting took place amid speculation over changes in the government and organisations, including at the state-level, as the party gears up for key Assembly elections due later in the year and the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.

The meeting comes just days after PM Modi returned from the US.

A day before, while addressing the BJP owrkers of Madhya Pradesh, PM Modi spoke very firly in facour of the implementation of a Uniform Civil Code nationwide, an agenda that has always been part of BJP's manifestos.
