Referring to a recent paper leak incident for the recruitment of junior clerical posts in Gujarat, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot's OSD (Officer on Special Duty) Lokesh Sharma on Sunday took to Twitter and said that paper leaks have become a countrywide problem and the opposition in the state should not divulge 'petty politics' over it.

The opposition Bharatiya Janata Party and Rashtriya Loktantrik Party in Rajasthan have repeatedly targeted the Ashok Gehlot-led Congress government over paper leak cases and demanded a CBI inquiry into the matter.

“It is once again clear from the incident in Gujarat that paper leaks are happening in other states of the country also. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot himself has said many times that this has become a countrywide problem and is a matter of great concern,” Sharma tweeted in Hindi.

On January 24, BJP Rajya Sabha MP Kirodi Meena went on a dharna with thousands of youths from Dausa protesting against the paper leaks and demanded a CBI inquiry. Referring to the uproar by the opposition on the first day of the Budget session in the legislative assembly on January 23, Sharma said, “It is not fair to do cheap politics on this issue by the BJP. They did not even allow the Governor's address in the Vidhan Sabha. There is a need to take strict action against such gangs flourishing across the country and playing with the future of the youth."

Sharma urged on the need to move beyond and find a solution to this problem. "In Rajasthan, the government is taking strict action in such incidents, sending dishonest people to jail, dismissing them from service, and blacklisting guilty candidates. Provision has been made to attach the property of the institutions and individuals involved," he cited in another tweet on January 29.

Last month, the Rajasthan second-grade teacher's recruitment paper was leaked, leading to the cancelation of the paper. Earlier, some other recruitment exam papers had also been leaked in the state.
