A seasonal western disturbance is poised to usher in a series of rainy days for the national capital on Monday, October 16, as per the latest forecast from the India Meteorological Department (IMD). In addition to Delhi, the IMD also anticipates rain showers in store for Punjab, Uttarakhand, and Haryana in the upcoming week, according to medai reports. 

The weather scenario unfolds with parts of northwest and central India experiencing widespread rainfall, commencing today and stretching its influence until October 17. This marks the advent of the season's first substantial western disturbance, resulting in significant rainfall and even snowfall in certain regions of Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh, as relayed by the Meteorological Office.

This weather system is poised to impact northwest and central India, spanning from Friday night through to October 17. The moisture drawn from the Arabian Sea will further amplify rainfall over the northwestern regions during this period.

In the evolving weather narrative, there is potential for this system to intensify further with the prospect of a new western disturbance merging into it on October 15, a development closely monitored by the IMD. As for the current weather conditions in the national capital, the minimum temperature recorded on Saturday settled at 21.4 degrees Celsius, marking a deviation of two notches above the seasonal average, according to officials.
