In a separate incident after the brutal murder of a teenage girl in Delhi two days ago, police in Gujarat's Surat arrested a man for killing his daughter by stabbing her at least 25 times with a knife, and leaving his wife injured after a domestic dispute.
The CCTV footage of the incident emerged on social media on the night of May 18 in Surat's Kadodara area.
The assailant has been identified as Ramanuja who lived with his family in a rented apartment in Satya Nagar Society in Surat.
All about the incident
As per media reports, the domestic dispute involved a minor argument that took place between the him and his wife over the issue of their daughter sleeping on the terrace.

The situation escalated promptly after the accused lost his temper.
According to the CCTV footage, Ramanuja first launched an attack with a knife at his wife in front of his children.
As the children tried to apprehend him in a bid to save their mother, the assailant fought back and tried to attack anyone within reach.
Amidst the chaos, the accused got hold of his daughter, and stabbed her multiple times.
Trying to escape his grip to save her life, she entered a room nearby. The man followed her, and seemingly continued to stab her to death.
According to the lead investigator on the case, Inspector RK Patel, the accused has been arrested and a case is filed against him under relevant sections of the IPC, including murder and attempt to murder.

The murder weapon has been confiscated.
As the investigation proceeds, authorities have taken statements from the victim and complainant, Rekha. The injured are meanwhile under treatment.
