In a shocking and distressing incident, a 25-year-old software engineer, identified as R. Nandhini, was discovered chained and burnt alive in Thalambur, a southern suburb of Chennai, on Saturday night. The gruesome discovery was made by local residents who found the victim with deep blade injuries on her neck, hands, and legs.
Nandhini was immediately rushed to the hospital by the Thalambur police team, but tragically, she succumbed to her injuries. Preliminary inquiries revealed that Nandhini, a native of Madurai, had been working at a software firm in Thoraipakkam for the past eight months.
The investigation took a dark turn as police identified the suspect behind the heinous crime as a transsexual individual formerly known as Pandi Maheshwari, 26, who had changed her name to Vetrimaran. It was disclosed that Nandhini and Vetrimaran had studied together in the same high school in Madurai, as reported by Times Of India.

The motive behind the brutal murder was traced back to a complex relationship between Nandhini and Vetrimaran. Having worked together and formed a friendship over the past eight months, Nandhini reportedly developed romantic feelings for Vetrimaran. However, when she decided to end their friendship and engage in conversations with others, Vetrimaran's anger escalated, culminating in the horrifying crime.
On Saturday, the police successfully apprehended Vetrimaran, who is now in judicial custody. Investigations are ongoing to delve into the details of the case and ascertain any other factors that may have contributed to this tragic incident.
