In an untoward incident, police apprehended Kannada film actor Nagabhushan SS as a speeding car, allegedly driven by him, reportedly rammed into a couple which led to the death of a 48-year-old woman while her 58-year-old husband sustained critical injuries, police said on Sunday. As per media reports, the incident occurred at Vasanthapura Main Road in Bengaluru on the night of September 30.
About the accident
According to the police, the woman Prema S and her huband Krishna B were walking on the footpath, when the accused, driving his car from Uttarahalli towards Konanakunte Cross, allegedly knocked them down. Later, the car crashed into an electric pole. Police in their official statement mentioned that the actor was driving the car in a "rash and negligent" manner.

Immediately after the accident, the severely injured couple were rushed to a nearby private hospital. As per media reports, the woman succumbed to her injuries on the way to the hospital, her husband is undergoing treatment.
Police said a case has been registered and the car has been seized for further investigation.
