Early on Monday morning, an earthquake of 4.6 magnitude on the Richter scale hit Campbell Bay in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, said the National Center for Seismology (NCS).

According to NCS, the depth of the earthquake was 32 km below the ground.

"Earthquake of Magnitude: 4.6, Occurred on 10-04-2023, 02:26:02 IST, Lat: 8.98 & Long: 94.07, Depth: 32 Km, Location: 220 km North of Campbell Bay, Nicobar island, India," NCS tweeted.

No casualties or damage to property were reported due to the earthquake. Further details are awaited.
