AISA alleged Delhi Police took president Neha Bora away in an unauthorised vehicle without a female constable.
The student body later said Bora was released at Narela Industrial Area Police Station, but her phone and bag were missing.
AISA said it was sending lawyers to ensure her safety and assist her at the police station.
The All India Students’ Association (AISA) on Sunday said its president, Neha Bora, had been released at the Narela Industrial Area Police Station after the student body alleged that Delhi Police had taken her away in an unauthorised vehicle without a female constable.
In an update posted on X, AISA said Bora’s phone and bag were not with her following her release. The organisation said it was sending a team of lawyers to the police station to ensure her safety and assist her.
Earlier, AISA had issued an SOS, alleging that Bora had been picked up by Delhi Police and that the organisation did not know where she was being taken.
A post from Bora’s account had questioned the police action, stating, “Where is Delhi Police taking Neha on their own? This is not detention, it is kidnapping!”
The allegations concerning the circumstances of her detention and the absence of her belongings could not be independently verified immediately. Further details were awaited.
