5.8 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Afghanistan's Hindu Kush Region, Tremors Felt In Delhi-NCR

An earthquake of magnitude 5.8 on the Richter scale originated in Afghanistan. Tremors were also felt in Delhi.

An earthquake of magnitude 5.8 on the Richter scale originated in Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan on Saturday night. Tremors were also felt in Delhi-NCR.

According to the National Center for Seismology, the earthquake occured at a depth of 181 km. No injuries or deaths have been reported as of yet.

Tremors in Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistan

The earthquake also led to strong tremors in Jammu and Kashmir.  This was the third quake to hit J&K in the day. The region was earlier jolted by earthquakes that hit neighbouring Pakistan and in the Hindu Kush region at 8.36 am and 10.24 am today which were of 4.8 and 5.2 magnitude respectively.

The tremor was felt at Lahore, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Peshawar and other cities of Pakistan as well. However, no damages or casualties have been reported so far.
