Taapsee Pannu On Working With Shah Rukh Khan In ‘Dunki’: This Was A Dream Or A Benchmark Of Sorts

Taapsee Pannu mentioned how ‘Dunki’ could be her "first and the last chance" to work with Shah Rukh Khan, and she made the most of it.

Shah Rukh Khan’s latest release ‘Dunki’ was nothing less than a celebration for his fans after the success of ‘Jawan’ and ‘Pathaan’. The film, which marks SRK's collaboration with Rajkumar Hirani, also features Vicky Kaushal, Taapsee Pannu, Boman Irani, Dia Mirza, and Satish Shah in key roles. 

Now the film’s lead actress, Taapsee Pannu, shared her experience of working with Shah Rukh Khan in the Rajkumar Hirani directorial, and asserted how it was a dream that she never thought she would be able to achieve.

In an interview with Pinkvilla, Taapsee stated, “This was a dream or a benchmark of sorts that I never thought I’ll be able to achieve because I really did not keep it in my list. I was like, ‘This is too good to be true, let’s just not even keep it in my list because if I don’t achieve it, I’ll keep feeling bad about it.'”

She further added how the stories that Shah Rukh Khan shared with her was nothing short of a learning experience. Taapsee mentioned, “Now because I have worked for two years shooting this film (Dunki), I was lucky enough to be with him (Shah Rukh Khan) every single day. We have shot together, there is hardly any stuff we have without each other. It was learning not just in front of the camera, it was learning beyond the camera. Because the stories that he tells you about his experiences in the last 35 years in the industry to the tricks of actors in front of the camera.”

Taapsee further revealed that she was shooting with SRK every day, and hence, she wanted to make the most of it. It was also because she would wonder whether she’ll ever get the opportunity to work with the actor again or not. 

“All these things have changed me as a human being, as a professional and as an actor which I am going to keep with me in the future. I hope I have made the most of each and every day I have been with him (SRK) on the set because I was very well aware that this might be my first and the last time, you never know,” Taapsee said.

Taapsee Pannu was seen as Manu Randhawa in ‘Dunki’. The film released on December 21, and received mixed reviews. It has been faring decently at the box office.
