Malayalam superstar Mammootty, who is experimenting with various roles, will be seen playing a detective in his upcoming film, Dominic and The Ladies Purse. The comedy-investigative thriller marks Malayalam film debut of director Gautham Vasudev Menon, and also marks his first collaboration with Mammootty.
On Wednesday, Mammootty shared Dominic and The Ladies Purse trailer on his X handle.
The one-minute-thirty-second trailer, shows the story of a detective Dominic who interrogates the owner of a missing purse, to unravel a more deeper case involving missing persons.
The trailer opens with Mammootty's character greeting someone with, "Welcome to Dominic Detective Agency." As he investigates his first case, Gokul Suresh's character asks, “How do you do this sir?” to which Mammootty's character replies, “Observation, concentration.”
There are posters of Dominic Detective Agency across Kochi which read, “It is our business to know what other people don’t know.” Mammootty says he can handle any case easily: “When I was in service, this was every day for me''.
There comes a twist when Viji Venkatesh's character asks Dominic to find out the owner of a ladies’ purse which leads to the case of two missing individuals.
The trailer is filled with comedy, action and drama and the films promises to be an interesting watch.

Dominic And The Ladies Purse also stars Sushmita Bhat, Lena, Sidhique, Vijay Babu and Viji Venkitesh, Vineeth in significant roles. It is bankrolled by Mammootty himself under his banner Mammootty Kampany. The story is written by Dr Neeraj Rajan, anad the screenplay and dialogues are co-written by Neeraj and Gautham along with Dr Sooraj Rajan. Dominic And The Ladies Purse will release worldwide on January 23.
