A case of theft has been reported at Bollywood actor Sangeeta Bijlani’s farmhouse in Maval, Pune district, a police official confirmed on Friday (July 18). It has been vandalised and the upper floor of the property is totally ransacked.
As per a report in PTI, the official said that the incident came to light when Bijlani visited her bungalow, located at Tikona village near Pawna Dam, during the day, after four months.
The actress filed a complaint at Pune rural police, where she alleged that the main door of the house and window grills were broken, a television set was missing, and several household items, including beds and a refrigerator, as well as CCTVs were either damaged or broken.
In her complaint, Bijlani also said that the the upper floor of the house was completely ransacked.
In her application, addressing to Pune Rural Superintendent of Police Sandip Singh Gill, she mentioned that she had not been able to visit the farmhouse due to her father's health issues.
"Today I visited the farmhouse along with two of my maid servants. Upon arrival, I was shocked and horrified to discover that the main door had been broken. Upon entering, I found the window grills were damaged, one television set was missing while another was broken," she wrote in her complaint.
Lonavala police station senior inspector Dinesh Tayde told the news agency that a team has been sent to the location for assessment.
"We will register an offence once the assessment of the damage and theft is completed," Tayde said.
As per a report in Free Press Journal, the thieves stole Rs 50,000 in cash and a television set which was approximately Rs 7,000, with a total loss of Rs 57,000.
The police have registered a case under BNS Sections 331(3), 331(4), 305(a), 324(4), and 324(5) against unknown persons.
