Actor-filmmaker Rakesh Roshan recently underwent neck angioplasty in a Mumbai hospital. Taking to Instagram on Tuesday, Rakesh shared his health update after being discharged from the hospital. He also posted a picture from the hospital, where he was seen interacting with his medical staff and also shook hands with a nurse.

Rakesh, in his post, wrote that during a routine full body checkup, the doctor who conducted the sonography for the heart, also advised him to do one for the neck. "By chance, we found out that although asymptomatic, both my carotid arteries to the brain were above 75% blocked. Which, if ignored, could be potentially dangerous," he wrote.
He got admitted into the hospital where the preventative procedures were done. He is back home now, fully recovered and hopes to get back to his workouts very soon.

"I hope this inspires others to stay on top of their health especially where the heart and brain is concerned. A heart CT and a carotid brain artery sonography ( which is often ignored completely) is a must for everyone above 45- 50 years old," he added.
Roshan, 75, concluded his post, "I think it’s important to remember that prevention is always better than cure. I wish a healthy and aware year to you all."
Reacting to his post, Anil Kapoor commented with fire and fist emojis. Sussanne Khan, ex-wife of Hrithik Roshan, shared a red heart, folded hands and fist emojis. Tiger Shroff wrote, "Looking great, sir". Suniel Shetty also posted a red heart, fire, nazar amulet and folded hands emojis. "Guddu ji you are a rockstar and an inspiration ❤️ touch wood you are looking fit as a fiddle," wrote Rohit Roy.
For the unversed, Rakesh Roshan was diagnosed with early stage throat cancer in 2018, and underwent surgery.
