It was last year that Paras Kalnawat decided to quit his popular show ‘Anupamaa’ in order to participate in ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa’. His parting from the show was not amicable to sat the least, and he mentioned that 80 percent of actors would quit the show given a chance. Paras recently also said that the ‘chaotic environment’ and ‘ego clashes’ as the reason for the same.

In an interview with Hindustan Times, Paras said, “There used to be literal fights between actors with them screaming at one another. And everyone, including me, would get dragged into it,” he shared, adding that it was an ‘ugly rat race’ and ‘ego clash’. “Instead of supporting each other, they were pulling the other person down. You won’t even see a 16-year-old fighting over topics they used to fight about.”

He however clarified that he had no issues with the makers of Anupamaa, and they had nothing to do with the toxic set. But he wanted them to take his side and sort the situations at hand, but it did not happen.

He also talked about Nidhi Shah and Aashish Mehrotra dismissing his claims and laughing at his statements. Sharing how both of them apologised but he felt backstabbed, Paras added, “But, talking about me in public and apologising in private is not the solution. Aashish said he wasn’t trying to speak against me but in favour of the show, while Nidhi said that she’d make up for it.”
