Actors Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan are collaborating after 17 years for an upcoming thriller directed by Priyadarshan. The film is reportedly the Hindi remake of the Malayalam movie Oppam. The films marks Akshay and Saif's reunion after their 2008 film, Tashan, also starring Kareena Kapoor Khan.

As per a report in Hindustan Times, Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan's upcoming film has been titled Haiwaan. The portal quoted a source saying, "The team felt this describes their subject the best, and conveys exactly how Priyadarshan sees it- as an edge of the seat thriller. There were other titles in contention, but this one clicked unanimously, given the characters the lead actors play."
The shoot is expected to begin in August next month, and release next year in theatres.
As per a report in Bollywood Hungama, the film is the Hindi remake of the 2016 Malayalam film Oppam, which starred Mohanlal. Akshay is said to playing the villain in the film.
On the work front, Akshay Kumar was last seen in Housefull 5, which marks his comeback to the comedy genre. He had recently wrapped up the shooting for Priyadarshan's Bhooth Bangla. He will also be seen in Hera Pheri 3, again directed by Priyadarshan. Saif Ali Khan was last seen in Netflix's film Jewel Thief, alongside Jaideep Ahlawat.
Haiwaan will mark their fourth film. Apart from Tashan, they also shared screen in Dil Chahta Hai (2001), and action-romantic comedy Kambakkht Ishq (2009).
