Actor Aayush Sharma recently lashed out at people who constantly troll his producer wife Arpita Sharma, and added how he is proud of who she is because she lives her life on her terms. Aayush also mentioned that his wife, sister of superstar Salman Khan, is a constant target for being “overweight” and dark skinned.
At a Tedx platform, a video of which has come up on the internet, Aayush said Arpita is targeted because she is a public figure. Hence, she is often ridiculed every time her picture comes online.
“My wife is constantly trolled for being overweight. She is a constant target, that being a celebrity she shouldn’t be so fat, she should dress a certain way. And she is dark in colour. Every time her picture comes, people are quick to remind that she is dark in colour. Today, beauty is no longer internal, no one wants to know how beautiful you are as a human being, but people want to see you beautiful externally,” he said.

Aayush also stated that his wife is comfortable in her own skin, and she does not let the trolling dictate her life. He said that she lives her life her way and is very clear-headed about it. “But I am proud of my wife, because she is comfortable in her own skin. She is proud of who she is and behind closed doors, she tells me, ‘I am not a celebrity, I have done nothing to be a celebrity. I am never going to be in front of the camera, so I am going to be who I am, I am going to live my life the way I am going to live my life,” he said.

Arpita and Aayush got married on November 18, 2014. They have a son, Ahil, and a daughter, Ayat. The couple recently hosted an Eid party, which was attended by Salman, Aamir Khan, Katrina Kaif, Tabu, Kartik Aaryan, Sonakshi Sinha, Dia Mirza, Anil Kapoor, Kangana Ranaut, Suniel Shetty, Neha Sharma, Aisha Sharma, Disha Patani, Iulia Vantur, Palak Tiwari, Preity Zinta, and a host of other celebs.
