Netflix Korea's 'Gyeongseong Creature' has received worldwide acclaim. The makers are riding high on its success, so much that the series has been renewed for another season.

Now in a recent interview on January 10 KST, the director Chung Dong-yoon has shared some insights about what went on during the shoot for Season 1. One interesting story that stood out was related to the lead star Han So-hee and her immense dedication to her role, that went as far as her attaining a face injury.

The director exclaimed that he was "mesmerized. I couldn't get closer. I was monitoring it and I heard an 'ack' sound." The incident took place while shooting for a scene where she was tied up in chains. She put so much force that the chains ended up hitting her in the face.

But the injury didn't break the flow of her performance. Dong-yoon emphasized that "she was sincere in her acting and fully immersed herself in the scene. Even after getting injured, So-hee apologized for not being able to continue filming because of the incident. When she eventually returned to filming, she performed exceptionally well."

While also recalling this incident, he was all-praise for her professionalism, and acknowledged that she did a excellent job.

Back in December 2023, So-hee herself had shared her two cents on sustaining on-set injuries. She said, "When it comes to injuries, it's not just me who gets hurt during action scenes; the stunt team, as well as all the actors, experience injuries. It's actually considered fortunate if I don't get hurt, but it's practically impossible not to sustain at least minor injuries. The environment is unlike any other, and regardless of how well I prepare, once we start filming, everyone works with absolute dedication."
