After Part 2 of Season 1 dropped on January 5, fans have been left craving for more, considering how the show ended at a cliffhanger. The horror-thriller, which stars two superstars Park Seo-joon and Han So-hee, is a period drama, which has received positive reactions from people all over the world. In India alone, it was in the top 5 shows trending in the last week of December, according to data retrieved from Netflix.

Now, after basking in the success of Season 1, which had 10 episodes, Netflix has announced that the show has been renewed for Season 2.

According to Netflix, Season 2 of 'Gyeongseong Creature' will continue “its narrative from the tumultuous spring of 1945 to the bustling streets of 2024 Seoul.” It will bring back characters Jang Tae-sang and Yoon Chae-ok's destinies together once again after 78 years. The new season takes a big jump in time, which was hinted at in Season 1's post-credits scene, showing a character named Ho-jae, who resembles Jang Tae-sang in 2024 Seoul, and Chae-ok to reprise her role. It makes for an interesting continuation of the plot.

The director of the show Chung Dong-yoon, stated his vision for the upcoming season. “Season 2 presents a story with a completely different charm. The change in space and time period will provide a clear distinction, offering an expanded universe feel.”

The show is slated for a release date in 2024.
