'Avatar The Way of Water' Box Office Collection: James Cameron's Film Continues To Wow Audience

Avatar 2's total collection in India now stands at Rs 345.90 crore, according to trade reports. If the streak continues, the film will be able to surpass Avengers Endgame's total collection in India which stands at around Rs 367 crore.

James Cameron's directorial 'Avatar: The Way of Water' hit the Indian screens on December 16 and the film has been unbeatable at the box office since then. The film has become the highest-grossing release of all time with $2.9 billion worldwide and continues to attract audience and churn money at the box- office.

'Avatar: The Way of Water' that was released in India on December 16 had a great start at the box office in the country as it earned Rs 40.50 crore on the opening day. This makes Avatar 2 the second-highest box office opener in the Indian market. The first one was the 2019 film Avengers: Endgame which earned Rs 53.10 crore on its opening day. Avatar 2 managed to mint around Rs 5.15 crore approx on January 3, 2023.

More than a decade later, Avatar's sequel, The Way of Water, released on December 16. The film traces the life of the Sully family comprising Jake, Neytiri and their kids. Steven Lang's Quaritch and his tribe attack them and how Sullys retort forms the story. The sequel is more centered around interpersonal relationships and is about protecting families. The James Cameron's directorial stars Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, and Kate Winslet. Avatar: The Way of Water is running successfully in theatres in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam.
