Ajit Pawar, the nephew of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar, on Sunday said that he was still a part of his uncle's party and "shall always be" there, a day after the Maharashtra Governor administered the oath of CM office to BJP's Devendra Fadnavis. Ajit was sworn in as Deputy Chief Minister.
Ajit added that Sharad Pawar Saheb is "our leader".
Reacting to Ajit's tweet, Sharad Pawar outrightly rejected the possibility of an alliance with the BJP and said the former was "misleading in order to create confusion and false perception among the people."
Sharad also said: "NCP has unanimously decided to ally with Shiv Sena & Congress to form government."

Earlier, Ajit had further said: "Our BJP-NCP alliance shall provide a stable Government in Maharashtra for the next five years which will work sincerely for the welfare of the State and its people."
In another tweet, he wrote: "There is absolutely no need to worry, all is well. However, a little patience is required. Thank you very much for all your support."
Ajit thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his wishes on the government formation in Maharashtra.
Besides the prime minister, Ajit, in a series of tweets, thanked other cabinet ministers who congratulated him on taking over as the deputy CM of the state.

"Thank you Hon. Prime Minister @narendramodi ji. We will ensure a stable Government that will work hard for the welfare of the people of Maharashtra," Ajit wrote in his tweet.
The tweet comes a day after the NCP sacked him as its legislature party leader.
According to PTI, NCP sources said the tweet was an indication that the nephew of Sharad Pawar had spurned all efforts to persuade him to rescind his shocking move to back the BJP.
Meanwhile, on Sunday, the Supreme Court asked the Centre to produce by Monday 10:30 AM the letters of support, Maharashtra Governor's recommendation to revoke the President's rule in the state and the invitation to Devendra Fadnavis to form the government
The apex court also issued notices to the Centre, Maharashtra government on the petition filed by Shiv Sena-NCP-Congress coalition against the Maharashtra Governor's decision to swear in Fadnavis as chief minister.
