The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and shiv Sena will form government in Maharashtra, Sena leader Sanjay Raut said Thursday. He referred to the “50:50 formula” agreed between the two parties.

“I am going to meet Uddhav ji. Number itne bure bhi nahi hain, aisa hota hai kabhi kabhi (Numbers are not bad, it happens at times). We will definitely continue with the alliance. We have agreed upon a 50-50 formula,” news agency ANI quoted Raut as saying.


The ruling BJP-Shiv Sena alliance on Thursday looked on course to retaining power in Maharashtra as per trends available in 283 of the 288 Assembly seats with BJP leading in 99, Shiv Sena 61, Cong 41, NCP 49 and Independents in 15 seats.
