The Assam police have arrested a self-styled godman, who was claiming to have blessings of “Lord Vishnu” to resolve the problem of personal life by his 'chamatkari chumban' (miraculous kiss).
Ram Prakash Chauhan aka Kissing Baba was arrested last week from Bhoraltup village.
“We arrested him after receiving complaints that he was hugging and kissing women in the name of therapy,” said officer-in-charge of the Morigaon police station. The police sources added that they have also arrested Chauhan's mother for her involvement in spreading the news of her son’s powers.
According to the reports, Chauhan had set up a temple in the district’s Bhoraltup village three months ago. His claim that he possessed supernatural powers to solve physical and psychological problems of women, including marital discord, earned him a reputation.

Mayong, about 40 km east of Guwahati, adjoins the Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary that is often called a Mini Kaziranga for a similar landscape and sizeable rhino population.
Morigaon district has a number of faith healers who claim to be "blessed" by Lord Vishnu. Literacy rate in Morigaon is lower other districts of Assam, because of Mayong - a black magic village where scores of ojhas have practised black magic for ages.
