India continued their fine form in red-ball cricket as they showed their dominance on day of the one-off Test match against Australia at Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium on Friday. The home team bowled out the visitors for 219 on day 1 and have almost batted them out of the contest by gaining a 157 lead going into day 3. (IND-W vs AUS-W Test Scores | Streaming | Cricket News)

Deepti Sharma was again in the thick of things as she scored a defiant 70 alongside Pooja Vastrakar, who have stitched a 102 run stand against Australia. At stumps on day 2, India were 376/7.

Deepti, who starred in the one-off Test against England with the ball, has again gone to register a great feat in the ongoing Test match. With her unbeaten 70, Deepti became only the second Indian woman with fifty-plus scores in four or more consecutive Tests, after Hemlata Kala (5 in a row between 2002 and 2006).

Furthermore, she is also only the second woman with fifty-plus scores in each of her first four Test matches after Denise Emerson, wife of Australian cricket umpire Ross Emerson, who famously no-balled Muttiah Muralitharan during an ODI against England in Adelaide in 1999.

After the win over England women's team, head coach Amol Muzumdar had hailed the star all-rounder, as he referred to her as the 'Ben Stokes' of the Indian team.

"I jokingly call Deepti (Sharma) 'Stokesy' (Ben Stokes' nickname). Nine wickets and a fifty, she's an important cog in the wheel and it's important for her confidence."
