Deep Dasgupta says the average score here is around 190, but on a smaller ground, it would be 210-215. The square boundaries are 72m and 60m, with 78m straight down the ground, making this a big venue. It’s a reused red soil pitch. Shane Watson calls it a “really nice surface” with plenty of hard rolling, offering pace and bounce for quicks and some grip for spinners. He expects a true wicket rewarding both bat and ball, especially urging LSG’s top order to capitalise. Dasgupta adds it could turn a bit early on, similar to the first game here, and suggests it might be a "win the toss and chase" pitch.

Game on! Axar Patel opens the attack for Delhi Capitals. He starts with a leg-lined delivery to Mitchell Marsh, who works it through square leg for a single. 1/0. Now, Aiden Markram is on strike, and Axar follows up with a ball darted in on the stumps. Markram punches it to long-off for another single. 2/0. The third delivery is short and wide of off to Markram, who rocks back and chops it to cover, no run.

Marsh finds the gap, and some luck! Axar floats one a touch too full at 99.5kph, and Mitchell Marsh leans into a crisp drive through wide mid-off. Vipraj charges across from long-off, puts in the dive… but makes a mess of it. The ball skids past him and into the rope, four runs, and LSG make the most of the gift.

Just a few balls earlier, Starc tried to rattle Markram with a short one at 138.7kph, but the batter was ready. He rocked back, picked the length early, and pulled it clean over backward square leg for a 63-metre six! Short boundary that side, and Markram cashed in.

First ball of IPL 2025 for Chameera, and Mitchell Marsh sends it sailing for SIX! That one will sting.

Vipraj Nigam delivers a quick 91kph ball to Aiden Markram, who rocks back, clears his front leg, and powers it over deep mid-wicket for a six. Markram is now on 45, closing in on his fifty.

Markram’s on fire! Four fifties in his last six innings. He gets into perfect position to pull a short ball along the ground, sending it to the left of deep square leg. He calls for two immediately, and Marsh makes it in comfortably, with the throw coming to his end. Markram raises his bat to acknowledge the milestone.

Suddenly, two quick wickets fall. First, Aiden Markram departs as Chameera delivers a full ball outside off at 141.9kph. Markram tries to carve it over the covers, but he misjudges, sending the ball straight into Stubbs' hands at deep cover. Markram walks off for a well-made 52 off 33 balls.

Then, Mitchell Starc strikes, deceiving Nicholas Pooran with a cleverly rolled short ball. Pooran, expecting to pull, is caught off guard and drags the ball onto his stumps via an inside edge. Pooran goes for 9 off 5 balls. A sudden double blow for LSG.

This one will sting. Ayush Badoni throws his hands at a length ball with width from Mukesh Kumar, and it flies off the bat towards sweeper cover. Tristan Stubbs sprints in, gets low, gets both hands to it, and spills it. A sharp chance, but one he'd expect to take. Badoni survives, and Stubbs looks gutted.

Ayush Badoni is starting to look like a nightmare for Delhi. Dushmantha Chameera tries to outfox him with another slower one, dragging it wide outside off. But Badoni is ready, he shuffles across, opens up the off side, and clobbers it over the covers. Tristan Stubbs at sweeper cover gives it everything, sprinting across and diving full stretch, but the ball wins the race. Cracking shot, pressure building.

Drama at the death! Rishabh Pant, batting at No. 7 for the first time in eight years, lasts just two balls. Mukesh Kumar closes out a brilliant spell with his fourth wicket, and it’s a big one. Pant tries to get inventive, switching his stance for a reverse hit, but Mukesh is one step ahead, follows him with a full one on leg stump.

Pant chops it onto his stumps, out for a duck. This is the first time since his debut season in 2016 that Pant has batted this low in the order, and it doesn't go to plan. Lucknow Super Giants finish on 159/6 after 20 overs.

The chase is on! Abishek Porel and Karun Nair are at the crease, with Porel facing Thakur to open the attack. Porel gets off the mark with a mistimed pull shot, sending the ball in the air towards mid-on, but it's safe as it lands just short of Miller, who dives in front. Meanwhile, Karun Nair finds the gap with a neat shot to long-off for a boundary.

Abishek Porel is in fine form as he leans into a full, wide delivery from Digvesh Rathi, driving it perfectly through the cover region for a boundary. A well-timed shot beats the diving Pooran. Moments later, Porel steps up again, placing another crisp drive to deep extra cover for another four. He's finding the gap with ease.

Markram strikes back after being hit for a six, delivering a superb delivery. Karun Nair, who had been making room to hit the ball, tries to pull a back-of-a-length delivery from Markram on middle. However, the ball turns sharply and passes under his bat, clipping his back leg before deflecting onto the stumps. Nair departs for 15 off 9 balls, leaving his early momentum short-lived.

Abishek Porel times it beautifully. A low full-toss outside off from the bowler, and Porel opens the face of his bat to guide it expertly through point. Bishnoi in the deep makes a desperate dive to his left, but can't get to the ball in time. It's four runs.

LSG opted for a review with just three seconds remaining on the DRS timer, after a lengthy discussion between Rishabh Pant and Rathi. Was there an inside edge? KL Rahul appeared confident, and after the review, UltraEdge confirmed no bat involvement. Additionally, the impact was well outside off-stump, and the decision was overturned. Not out.

LSG are holding their ground, but DC seem to be in control for now. A couple of quick wickets, though, and the chase could shift dramatically. Rishabh Pant, visibly frustrated, is urging the bowler to stick to his usual style, practically shouting from behind the stumps.

Ravi Bishnoi bowls to KL Rahul, who goes down on one knee and launches a powerful slog sweep. What a shot by KL Rahul! The ball soars into the stands at deep midwicket, easily clearing the short boundary with a flat, mighty hit for a six.

Finally, a breakthrough! Aiden Markram strikes again. He delivers a full ball that drifts into the pads of Abishek Porel, who goes for a big leg-side swipe. However, the timing is off, and the ball ends up off the cue end, giving David Miller an easy catch at deep mid-wicket. Porel's impressive knock comes to an end at 51 runs off 36 balls, and Markram takes his second wicket.

Axar hits the second maximum of the over, a clean, effortless strike. He quickly picks the line and with a smooth flick of his wrists, sends the ball sailing for a 75-meter six over mid-wicket.

Axar Patel takes a calculated risk, backing away outside leg to a length ball aimed at his stumps. He drives it flat and hard, just clearing the leaping fielder at mid-off, and the ball races away for four.

Digvesh Rathi bowls to Axar, and it's a simple chance dropped by Prince at mid-off. Avesh can't believe it, hands on his head in frustration. LSG’s chances are slipping away quickly now.

KL Rahul stays steady in his crease and flicks the ball off his pads towards midwicket, bringing up his third half-century of the season. It's shaping up to be a match-winning knock against his former team, as he has expertly guided this chase.

KL Rahul finished the job with a six to seal the deal for Delhi Capitals. His half-century came earlier in the over with a calm single, and along the way, he made history as the fastest player to reach 5000 runs in IPL, doing it in just 130 innings. Rahul, along with Abishek Porel, who also struck a half-century, led the charge. Axar Patel chipped in with an important 34* to ensure the win. Delhi Capitals chased down the target with ease, finishing on 161/2, and claiming an 8-wicket victory over Lucknow Super Giants.
