Avinash clocked 8.19.54 to finish first and grab India's 12th gold in the Asian Games 2023. It was also India's first athletics gold medal.
The 29-year-old who hails from Mandwa, started the race miles ahead of his opponents and opened a huge gap between himself and the rest of the athletes on the track.
He had a such a sizeable gap that Avinash finished the race, there were no opponents visible in sight.

India currently sits in fourth position in the Asian Games 2023 medals tally with 12 golds, 16 silver and 16 bronze.
China leads the tally with 229 medals (121 gold, 71 silver, 37 bronze) ahead of South Korea (121), Japan (106) and India (43).
