Uttar Pradesh Govt Increases Dearness Allowance Of Govt Employees By 4%

The Government of Uttar Pradesh has also announced bonus of up to Rs 7,000 to government employees on the occasion of Diwali.

The Government of Uttar Pradesh has announced an increase in the dearness allowance (DA) and additional bonus for state government employees on Diwali.

The Diwali is a Hindu festival that marks the return of Lord Rama, an incarnation of God Vishnu, to his Kingdom of Ayodhya after 14 years of exile and killing the demon king Ravana. This year, it falls on November 12. 

While the DA has been hiked by 4 per cent, an additional bonus of up to Rs 7,000 has also been announced, according to Government of UP. 

"UP CM Mr Yogi Adityanath Ji has announced the increase of 4 per cent in the dearness allowance (DA) of state employees as a reward for their invaluable contribution to the progress of Uttar Pradesh," said Government of UP in a post on Twitter.

As per the announcement, all state employees, teachers at government aided-institutions, urban bodies, UGC employees, and pensioners will get DA at the rate of 46 per cent of their basic pay, said the Government of UP on Twitter. 

Furthermore, the Government of UP also said that employees would also get an additional bonus of up to Rs 7,000.
