In Gorakhpur, CM Yogi Adityanath’s bastion, the colour saffron leaps at you from every quarter. Local shopkeepers say saffron scarves and bandi jackets are in high demand. In 2017, Gorakhpur’s historical clock tower was painted saffron. Five years down the line, there are several patches of saffron that dot the city.
