The Tamil Nadu government plans to launch a new scheme in collaboration with public and private entities, as well as corporate houses, to provide short-term skill training for the state's unemployed youth in specific sectors.

The Tamil Nadu Skill Development Corporation (TNSDC), a Higher Education wing, is responsible for soliciting Expression of Interest (EOI) from potential training partners.

The primary goal of this EOI is to select reputable organizations, industry leaders, and institutions as "Training Partners" for TNSDC to implement short-term skill training programs for unemployed youth in specified sectors. Interested institutes, organizations, industry associations, and even government entities can register as training partners under various modes.

The first mode is for green channel training partners, including factory skill schools, centers of excellence, and industrial associations.

The second mode involves training partners in educational institutions with placement MoUs with industries. The third mode is for training partners operating through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

Green channel partners are expected to offer wage-based employment and apprenticeships to trainees within their organizations or sister concerns. Enrolled candidates must be unemployed youth without current employment or professional compensation from any company. The green channel training program should be conducted within the industry without the involvement of third parties.
