Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Wednesday conducted an aerial survey of the rain-hit areas in Pali district and also met the affected people.
Due to the impact of cyclone Biparjoy, several areas in Pali, Sirohi, Jalore and Barmer received heavy to extremely heavy rains recently. Many houses and roads were damaged apart from other losses caused due to the rains.
During his visit to Pali, Gehlot gave instructions to the officers to provide quick relief to the affected and provide them compensation according to rules by conducting a survey. A spokesman said the chief minister met the affected people at the circuit house in Pali who informed him about their loss.

The chief minister held talks with the District Collector, Superintendent of Police, Sub-Divisional Officers. He asked the officials to ensure speedy repair of roads and electric poles. Gehlot also visited the affected areas in Barmer, Jalore and Sirohi on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Rajasthan Governor Kalraj Mishra on Wednesday asked officials to provide prompt and effective assistance to those affected by cyclone Biparjoy and heavy rains in the state.
Mishra spoke to Jodhpur, Sirohi, Jalore and Pali District Collectors and Jodhpur Divisional Commissioner over phone on Wednesday and enquired about the damage caused by the cyclone and heavy rains. He also called for adequate arrangements for providing assistance, according to a Raj Bhavan statement.

The Governor expressed concern over waterlogging at many places due to heavy rains. He also directed for immediate action to drain water, restore power supply, and take effective measures to provide all possible relief to the people.
