Punjab: Labourer Kills Daughter, Ties Body To Bike, Drags It Before Dumping On Railway Tracks In Amritsar

The accused has been identified as Bau, a Nihang Sikh, who works as a labourer. He killed his 20-year-old daughter using a sharp-edged weapon for spending a day away from home.

In a horrific incident, a man from Punjab's Amritsar hacked his daughter to death, tied her body to a bike, and dragged it on the road before dumping it on railway tracks, police said.

According to police, they arrested the man, identified as Bau, a Nihang Sikh, who works as a labourer.

He killed his 20-year-old daughter using a sharp-edged weapon for spending a day away from home. Premilimary investigation suggested that the accused also doubted her character.

The incident took place on Thursday.

What does the police say?

According to police, the anger was triggered as Bau's daughter left home on Wednesday without informing anyone and returned on Thursday.

"We also received information that the accused confined his family members at home and threatened to kill them as well. Due to fear, they couldn’t leave the house," a police officer told India Today.

"My granddaughter had left home and she came back on her own. When she returned, her father fumed and he killed her," the victim's grandmother said.

Police filed a case against the man on murder charges and arrested him.
