President Droupadi Murmu Offers Prayers At Mahabodhi Temple In Bodh Gaya

Soon after arriving at Gaya airport, the president went straight to the 1,500-year-old Mahabodhi temple, said a senior official of the district administration.

President Droupadi Murmu visited Bodh Gaya on Friday and prayed at the Mahabodhi temple.

A press statement issued by Raj Bhavan said, "The President offered prayers before a Buddha statue at Mahabodhi Temple in Bodh Gaya. Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar was also present there".

Soon after arriving at Gaya airport, the president went straight to the 1,500-year-old Mahabodhi temple, said a senior official of the district administration.

Later in the day, Murmu will attend the third convocation of the Central University of South Bihar (CUSB) in Gaya on the last leg of her three-day-long visit to the state. Security has already been beefed up in Gaya in view of the president's visit.

The president on Thursday attended convocation ceremonies of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Patna and Mahatma Gandhi Central University in Motihari. The president also launched the fourth Agricultural Road Map (2023-2028) of Bihar on the first day of her visit to the state in Patna on Wednesday. Besides, the president on Wednesday visited Sri Harimandir Ji Patna Sahib in Patna City amid tight security.
