Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the 28th Conference of Speakers and Presiding Officers of the Commonwealth (CSPOC) on January 15 at Samvidhan Sadan.
The conference, chaired by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, will see participation from 61 speakers and presiding officers from 42 countries and four semi-autonomous parliaments.
Key discussions will focus on strengthening democratic institutions, use of AI in parliaments, social media’s impact on lawmakers, and enhancing citizen participation beyond voting.

According to an official statement, 61 speakers and presiding officers from 42 Commonwealth nations and four semi-autonomous parliaments from around the globe will attend the meeting, which will be presided over by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla.
It will discuss a variety of current parliamentary topics, such as the function of presiding officers and speakers in upholding robust democratic institutions.
The conference will cover a variety of topics, including the use of artificial intelligence in parliamentary operations, the influence of social media on lawmakers, creative ways to improve public perception of parliament, and citizen participation beyond voting.
On January 15, the Prime Minister will open the 28th Conference of Speakers and Presiding Officers of the Commonwealth at the Parliament House Complex's Central Hall of Samvidhan Sadan. On the occasion, he will also speak to the assembly.
