Parliament Election 2024: AAP Ready To Share 3 Seats With Cong In Delhi, Wants 1 In Gujarat | Details

As per media reports, the first meeting concluded at a place where  AAP proposed offering three Lok Sabha seats to the Congress in Delhi. Expecting a reciprocation of equal measure, AAP has sought 1 Lok Sabha seat in Gujarat, 3 in Haryana, and 1 in Goa.

Putting aside all the political differences, the Congress and the Aam Admi Party (AAP) finally joined hands and discussed seat-sharing prospects for the 2024 Lok Sabha polls in Punjab, Delhi, and other states on Monday. It has been reported that both parties have decided to reconvene in a bid to give the seat-sharing arrangement a final shape.

On Monday, the meeting in New Delhi was attended by top Congress leaders and members of the Congress' seat-sharing committee Mukul Wasnik and Ashok Gehlot while AAP's delegation included Rajya Sabha MP Sandeep Pathak and Delhi ministers Atishi and Saurabh Bharadwaj.

Seat-sharing details

As per media reports, the first meeting concluded at a place where  AAP proposed offering three Lok Sabha seats to the Congress in Delhi. Expecting a reciprocation of equal measure, AAP has sought 1 Lok Sabha seat in Gujarat, 3 in Haryana, and 1 in Goa, which has prompted the two parties of the INDIA bloc to meet again to give a final shape to the arrangement.

It has also been reported that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which also rules Punjab, has expressed a willingness to allocate 6 seats to the Congress in the border state.

What did Congress say?

"We had a very good meeting. Senior AAP leaders attended the meeting for holding discussions with us on behalf of Arvind Kejriwal. The National Alliance Committee (NAC) formed by the Congress president held discussions with the AAP leaders and a final decision will be taken later," Wasnik told reporters after the meeting.

"We had in-depth discussions regarding seat sharing and on various other topics. We will meet again after a few days and the final discussion on seat sharing will take place. We will give a final shape to the seat-sharing plans later. We will contest the election together with vigorous preparations and defeat the BJP," Wasnik, who is the convenor of the Congress's NAC, said.
