The Ministry of Home Affairs on Saturday declared 33-year-old Canada-based gangster Lakhbir Singh Landa as a terrorist who reportedly is known for his allegiance with the Khalistani group Babbar Khalsa International (BKI).

Who is Lakhbir Singh Landa?

As per media reports, the 33-year-old gangster hails from Punjab, but has been residing in Canada for the past few years. Details available on the media say that Landa was involved in the planning of a rocket attack on the Punjab Police Intelligence Headquarters in Mohali in 2021. Moreover, Landa's name also appears in connection with the RPG attack at Sarhali police station in Tarn Taran, in December 2022.

In September this year, the Punjab Police conducted raids at 48 places linked to close associates of the Canada-based terrorist.

The action came after a trader was attacked by two assailants on September 21. The trader had said that he received a call from someone who claimed to be Landa Harike and demanded Rs 15 lakh.
