The Congress is likely to finalise its first list of candidates for the upcoming Karnataka polls after the Congress's Central Election Committee (CEC) is scheduled to hold a meeting on March 17.
The Congress has set a target of winning at least 150 seats in the 224-member Assembly, to come to power in Karnataka, with a clear majority. While JD(S) has already announced the first list of 93 candidates for Assembly polls, BJP and Congress are yet to announce their list.
The CEC will also have Karnataka Congress president DK Shivakumar and veteran party leader Siddaramaiah.
Meanwhile, Congress leader and Bangalore Rural MP D K Suresh on Wednesday said he was not interested in state politics, a day after his brother and the party's state unit chief D K Shivakumar indicated about fielding him from Ramanagara segment for the upcoming Assembly polls.
He also said it will be difficult, as he is the lone Congress member in Lok Sabha from Karnataka.
