Congress Leader Rahul Gandhi Shares Lunch With Vegetable Vendor, Calls Him 'Bharat Bhagya Vidhata'

Around a week ago, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi visited the Azadpur Mandi in Delhi where he interacted with some vegetable and fruit vendors and traders. He met with Rameshwar there where he informed Gandhi about their precarious situation and broke down.

Around a week after his meeting with the vegetable vendors at the Azadpur Mandi in Delhi, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Monday was seen having lunch with Rameshwar, a vegetable vendor who was seen in a recent social media video breaking down while talking about his hardships due to inflation.

Sharing his picture with Rameshwar, Gandhi said in Hindi on X, "Rameshwar ji is a lively person! In him, the glimpse of the affable nature of crores of Indians can be seen."

"Those who move forward with a smile even in adverse circumstances are truly 'Bharat Bhagya Vidhata (India's destiny makers)'," Gandhi said.

Several netizens shared pictures of the meeting in Twitter where Gandhi and Rameshwar can be seen having lunch at the former's home here and the two sharing light moments during the meeting.

Previously, in a viral video, Rameshwar was seen with his empty hand-cart, saying that he could not buy tomatoes as the prices were very high.

Asked if he would buy some other vegetable, he said, "paise nahin hain" and then broke down. The video had gone viral and had been shared by Gandhi as well as everal other Congress leaders to hit out at the government over rising prices.

Rahul Gandhi asked the question " मंडी में मंदी क्यों?"(Why the slowdown in the market?) as he shared a short clip of his interaction with the vendors of the Azadpur Mandi. He also wrote, "Time will change, India will unite, the tears of the poor will be wiped away."

The visit came days after he met some farmers planting paddy in their fields in Haryana's Sonipat district and met some women farm labourers, whom he later invited over to his mother's residence.
