In a video doing rounds online, an autorickshaw driver in Karnataka’s capital Bengaluru was seen smashing the helmet, abusing and intimidating a two-wheeler taxi rider, in what subsequently drew police action against him. The Bengaluru Police took cognisance of the matter after the video was flagged on social media.
The two-wheeler rider, riding a Rapido, is reportedly from the northeast. In the video, the autorickshaw driver could be heard abusing the rider, calling him a ‘foreigner’ involved in “illegal business”.
“Friends, take a look at how this illegal Rapido business is going on. This fellow has come from a foreign country and drives around like a king,” the autorickshaw driver says in Kannada. The incident took place near the Indiranagar metro station in the city.
