A two-day anti-terror preparedness exercise is underway in the national capital, with mock drills being conducted at over 10 locations across the city on July 17 and 18. The drills are designed to test the readiness and coordination of various security agencies in responding to potential terror threats.

According to ANI, Delhi Police along with other stakeholder agencies, are participating in the exercise to validate their standard operating procedures and response mechanisms. The public has been advised not to panic due to the increased security presence and to cooperate with authorities.

This exercise follows a large-scale mock drill at Rajiv Chowk Metro Station last month, which simulated various crisis scenarios including chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear threats, terrorist attacks, and hostage situations.

This drill, held between 1:05 AM and 4:25 AM on the night of June 27-28, was led by the Central Industrial Security Force  and involved multiple agencies.

Reportedly, authorities have emphasized that these exercises are crucial for enhancing the city's security and ensuring a swift and coordinated response in the event of an actual emergency.
