Gaza Strip is witnessing some of the deadliest fighting in the present war, as Israel expands its offensive just days after the UN Security Council passed a resolution calling for more humanitarian aid but failed to reach an agreement on a ceasefire resolution. 

So far, in Gaza, at least 21,110 people have been killed and 55,243 wounded in Israeli attacks since October 7. 

On day 82, the war on Gaza continues and here are the key updates.

1. Between Saturday and Tuesday, 858 Palestinians were killed and 1598 were injured in Gaza, said the enclave’s Health Ministry.

2. 241 people have been killed and 382 have been injured in the past 24 hours according to Gaza’s Health Ministry.

3. Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel condemned Israel, describing its actions in Gaza as "genocide" and a "humiliation for all humanity”.

4. UN Chief Antonio Guterres announced Sigrid Kaag as the Senior Humanitarian and Reconstruction Coordinator for Gaza on Tuesday. Kaag is a Dutch politician and veteran United Nations diplomat.

5.  Palestine’s representative to the UN, Riyad Mansour, wrote to the president of the UN Security Council that Israel’s attacks on Gaza have only intensified in the four days.

6. Internet and telecommunications in Gaza have been experiencing halts and shutdowns due to damaged infrastructure. 

7. United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) estimates that since the war's onset on October 7, 85 per cent of Gaza's population has been internally displaced.

8. Jordanian King Abdullah II is on his way to Egypt to meet President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi to address the situation in Gaza and explore pathways toward a ceasefire.
