Suchendra Prasad is a personality who needs no introduction in the Kannada industry. The moment you utter his name, what comes to mind is his impeccable Kannada, his baritone and his acting repertoire. Now Prasad has directed a film called Mavu Bevu and added more lustre to his filmography. The movie which is readying for release, has already started making the right noise as it has straight away been selected for the upcoming Bengaluru Film Festival which is in its 14th edition.
The film is based on the happenings of the current society and involves family, culture and artistic work flavours. Actually, it can also be said that the film Mavu Bevu has a close link with the 80s era. Because in the 80s, a music album titled Mavu Bevu which had a melange of songs featuring popular singers C Ashwath, L Vaidyanathan and SP Balasubramaniam was released. That is beautifully linked with this film in an artistic way and thus the movie is titled Mavu Bevu.
The flick stars Ninasam Sandeep and Danny Kuttappa as protagonists; singers Chaithra, Supriya S Rao, Ranjitha, Sitara, Chakravarthy Davanagere, Ranjan and others also play key roles. Mavu Bevu which is produced by Sri Sai Gagan Productions and backed by Rajashekar, also sees Deepak Paramashivan in a brief role, but more importantly he has scored the music for the film. It’s indeed a proud moment for the film’s team to be screened at the film festival.
