Jet Airways began terminating contracts of foreign pilots last week
- Other carriers will follow suit in keeping with a DGCA directive
- There are over 1,000 foreign pilots operating in India
- Over 4,000 Indian commercial pilot licence holders are unemployed
- The civil aviation ministry wants to phase out the foreigners by 2010
