P Valsala, a well-known Malayalam novelist and short story writer, died on Wednesday in a private hospital in Kochi, according to family sources. She was just 85 years old. It’s being reported that P Valsala died of a heart attack on Tuesday night.

For the unversed, P Valsala, a notable female writer in the state of Kerala, had received the coveted Ezhuthachan Puraskaram and Kerala Sahithya Academy Award. She was one of the shining gems that the state had. Her death put the entire fraternity in a state of gloom.

‘Nellu’, ‘Agnayam’, ‘Nizhaluragunna Vazhikal’, ‘Arakkillam’, and ‘Venal’ are only a few of her well-known works. She is known for many such writings of her. Her writings have been reissued several times, and she is noted for her distinctive writing style.
