Siddharth Anand's 'Fighter' hit the screens on January 25. It was a working Thursday yet it earned Rs 22.5 crore on Day 1. On Day 2, on Republic Day, which was a holiday, Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone starrer witnessed a surge at the box office as it collected Rs 39 crore (rough data) per a Sacnilk report. So, on Day 2, 'Fighter's box office collection stands at Rs 61.5 crore.
'Fighter' had an overall 41.57% Hindi Occupancy on Friday. Morning shows witnessed 23.40% occupancy, afternoon shows: 44.81%, evening shows: 52.66% and night shows saw 45.40% footfalls.
'Fighter' which is the first-ever aerial drama received positive reviews from critics and audiences. The word of mouth of the film is strong and if it goes like this, Siddharth Anand's directorial will surely cross the Rs 100 mark in just a couple of days.

Compared to Hrithik's previous films 'Bang Bang' and 'War', 'Fighter's opening collection was less. 'Bang Bang' opened to Rs 27 crore and 'War' made Rs 53 crore on Day 1. However, 'Fighter' is likely to become the first blockbuster of 2024.
The story of 'Fighter' is based on the Balakot airstrikes post the Pulwama attack in 2019 and how a bunch of elite air force officers avenge the terror attacks and come out victorious.
Outlook India review of 'Fighter' reads: This is not Siddharth Anand's best work but not the worst either. He deserves applause for treating the audience with this larger-than-life first-ever aerial drama. Nothing new was presented plotwise but the breathtaking aerial action sequences are something the audience will witness for the first time on the big screen. Hrithik and Deepika totally wow with their sizzling chemistry and it doesn't feel like they have shared the screen for the first time. 'Fighter' combines elements of high-octane aerial stunts, suspense, and emotional depth that make it an engaging cinematic experience and big spectacle. It's a full paisa vasool movie.
