Dimpy Menon’s show, Through the Leaves to the Light (Gallery Art Positive, New Delhi, till February 5), is a celebration of the silent communication one has with with nature. The exquisitely agile human figures that dance with trees, flowers and the earth are a treasure to behold, belying the fact that they are made of hard bronze, extremely malleable in Menon’s hands. “The performance that nature puts on inspires emotions that beg to be expressed. I try to capture them using the human form to convey both essence and experience. When one looks up at the sky, birds and stars, there is a calm joyfulness that fills the heart,” she says. This exhibition captures that in full force and flow.
