'Ghoomer' Trailer: Abhishek Bachchan Aces As Coach Of Specially-Abled Cricketer Saiyami Kher

The trailer of the upcoming sports feature film 'Ghoomer' was unveiled on Friday (August 4). The movie stars Abhishek Bachchan and Saiyami Kher as the leads. 'Ghoomer' is an inspiring story directed by ace filmmaker R Balki. Abhishek Bachchan is seen as a coach of a paraplegic cricketer played by actress Saiyami. 

'Ghoomer' trailer begins with Abhishek Bachchan who in a drunken state asks, "Logically, ek haath se kya koi desh ke liye khel sakta hain? (can someone with just one hand play for the country)". He answers, "No. Lekin ye life na logic ka khel nahi hai. Ye life magic ka khel hai (But life is not about logic, but magic)". Saiyami plays Anina who is a cricketer of the Indian cricket team. But her life turns topsy turvy after she meets an accident and loses her right hand. This breaks her down and she even thinks of committing suicide. But, all thanks to her coach Abhishek who encourages her and she gives her life a second chance as she begins her training. It's a hard path but she doesn't give up and her coach always pushes her to excel. We also get a glimpse of Amitabh Bachchan in the trailer.

Sharing the trailer of the movie on his Instagram handle, Jr Bachchan wrote, ''Baayein haath ka khel''. 

'Ghoomer' also stars Shabana Azmi and Angad Bedi. It is co-written by R Balki, Rahul Sengupta, and Rishi Virmani. Reportedly, the story is inspired by the life of Karoly Takacs, the late Hungarian right-hand shooter, who won two Olympic gold medals despite his right-hand injury. It is releasing on August 18. The film will open at Melbourne’s 14th Indian Film Festival on August 12.
