Man of the match Farukh Choudhary forced an own goal off Rana Gharami in the 17th minute, but Aridane Santana produced a sublime volley to equalised after Bikash Jairu was sent off for a sliding tackle on ever-impressive Jerry Mawhmingthanga. Despite having a one-man advantage, Odisha FC failed to kill off the match and allowed Jamshedpur to dictate the proceedings at JRD Tata Sports Complex. Tireless Sergio Castel then scored the winner five minutes from the regulation time. That's all for tonight. Tomorrow, pre-season favourites FC Goa host former champions Chennaiyin FC at Fatorda.

Hosts Jamshedpur FC dominated possession even though Odisha FC had the better chances, then an own goal from Rana Gharami gave the hosts lead. But they lost the advantage after a direct red card to Bikash Jairu, who lunged on Jerry Mawhmingthanga. Then,  Aridane Santana connects a volley to level score. Player of the match so far is Mawhmingthanga, who is turning up the heat against his former club.
