Just hours after he poured scorn on Congress in the Lok Sabha, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday once again trained guns on the Opposition, saying the path taken by several parties on the continuing agitations against the new citizenship law was rather "unfortunate".
Replying to a debate on Motion of Thanks to the President's Address, the prime minister said that instead of scaring people about the new citizenship law, the right information needs to be provided.
"Is it ok to misguide and misinform the nation? Can anybody be a part of a campaign that does this? The path being taken on CAA by many Opposition parties is very unfortunate," he said.

"Attempt to cover undemocratic activity under the garb of protests against new citizenship law," he said.
He asked why the Opposition parties and politicians, who are very "excited these days", not care about the treatment meted out to the minorities in Pakistan.
The prime minister also addressed the concern over the National Population Register (NPR), saying, "Those who carried out the NPR are now spreading misinformation. It was done in 2010, we came in 2014... we have all the records"
"Why are you lying? Why are you fooling people," PM Modi said in the upper house.
Refuting Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad's claims about the abrogation of Article 370, Modi said the entire nation had "witnessed the detailed discussions on the subject. MPs have voted in favour of the decisions".

He attacked the grand old party over how Telangana was carved out, saying, "People do not forget things easily."
"I want to remind the Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha, about how proceedings regarding the creation of Telangana took place here, doors were closed and live telecast was prohibited," he said.
