The Amboli police on Monday found the body of a 22-year-old boy at a hotel in Mumbai’s Jogeshwari.

The deceased was identified as Jaideep Swain, a student of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay.

Swain was pursuing his Masters in technology (MTech) at the computer science department of IIT.

According to police, Swain overdosed on anti-depressant tablets. No suicide note has been found.

“There was no suicide note. The exact cause (of death) is unknown, but we found many tablets that are taken for depression,” the Times of India  quoted Amboli senior police officer as saying.

According to a report in Hindustan Times, when Swain did not open the door, the police forced their way inside and found Swain’s body in a decomposed condition.

Further investigation in the case is underway.
