His music is all about the magic of sound. It has divinity; you connect at an emotional level.
For him a song is best expressed in a certain voice, so he picks with care. He has made many of the dreams come true for young singers.
Recording with him is an experience. He works with each singer in a different way. In my case, he takes me through a song phrase by phrase, line by line. He knows how to guide the singer. He keeps working on the song simultaneously, creating and adding music, adding layer upon layer to the song.
I love his Khwaja mere khwaja from Jodhaa Akbar; Rehna tu from Delhi 6; all songs from the Tamil film Rakshakan; Vellai pookkal from Kannathil Murhamittaal and Thenkizhakku cheemayile and Aathangara marame from Kizhakku Cheemayile.
