In a video being circulated on social media, Shaw is seen charging at the person holding the camera while holding a baseball bat.

The incident took place after the cricketer refused to take multiple pictures with fans, one of whom was identified as Sapna Gill, an influencer.

In a police complaint registered by Shaw's friend, 8 persons have been named for attacking them and breaking their car windshield and demanding Rs 50,000.

Shaw, who plays for Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League, had initially taken pictures with the group, but refused to entertain them further when they demanded more. Subsequently, Shaw and his friend requested the manager of the hotel to have the fans removed.

After being kicked out, the fans waited outside for Shaw armed with baseball bats, said the complaint.

When the pair managed to drive off, they were chased down and intercepted at a signal near Oshiwara breaking the windshield of the car Shaw was in.

These allegations have been refuted by the ones named in the complaint, who, in turn, claimed that Shaw assaulted them first.

Sapna Gill's lawyer also claimed that she has been held up at the police station and not allowed to go for a medical examination.
